Payments and Retainers
Welcome to Clarity Tax Service, Inc! Locally owned and operated since 2006.
We request a $500 retainer from both new and returning clients which is applied towards all services at the first meeting or phone consultation. The retainer is for each individual or business tax return to be filed. If for some reason you choose not to have your returns prepared by us after the appointment and work commences, you will be billed for the consultation and tax preparation at our normal hourly rates. Retainers for work beyond 1040 tax preparation range between $1,000 - $2,000, depending on your situation. We hold the deposit until our services are complete.
If you need additional assistance after filings are complete, we will request a new deposit before proceeding.

Consultations without tax preparation start at $250. We offer complimentary meet and greet sessions of fifteen minutes that do not include tax advice outside of busy seasons.
Please bring two prior years of returns with you if you are a new client.

The owner's dog, Leela, is often on premises to greet clients. If you would like her crated during your meeting or have allergies, please let us know in advance, if possible.
